The Day FAUNDA Walked Into a Classroom

Our First Big School Adventure at Mugabe Secondary School

This is another FAUNDA story. Not from a computer screen, but from a real school, with real students, real laughter, and real learning moments.

And yes. It was a little bit scary and a lot exciting.

The Morning We Carried FAUNDA to School

On this day, the FAUNDA team packed their bags and headed to Mugabe Secondary School.

Inside our bags:

  • A game we’ve been building with love
  • Big hopes
  • And many questions

Inside our heads:

  • “Will the students like it?”
  • “Will they understand it?”
  • “What if they get bored?”

But once we walked into the classroom. Something magical happened.

When the Students Took Over

We didn’t start with long explanations.
We didn’t give a big lecture.

We said:
“Let’s play.”

And suddenly:

  • Students leaned forward
  • Groups formed
  • Discussions started
  • Hands went up
  • Laughter filled the room

They didn’t wait for instructions.
They jumped into the game.

They argued (nicely).
They chose problems.
They debated ideas.
They asked questions we didn’t expect.

At that moment, we knew something important:

FAUNDA didn’t need an explanation. It needed to be experienced.

A Surprise Lesson for Us

The students taught us something we didn’t expect.

Some words we thought were “easy”. Were not easy.
Some phrases sounded too “grown-up”.
Some roles felt too serious.

That’s when it clicked:

If FAUNDA is for kids, it must speak like kids. Not like boardrooms.

What We Learned (And Quickly Fixed!)

After the school visit, we met with Yasinta, who shared positive and honest feedback from her experience with children.

Here’s what changed FAUNDA for the better.

Language That Fits the Player

Instead of making English simply “easier”, we chose something smarter.

FAUNDA will now adapt questions based on age:

  • We’ll ask for age during sign-up
  • A 10-year-old and a 16-year-old won’t see the same language

Friendlier Words

We changed the language to feel more human and more fun:

  • “Startup” became Business
  • “CFO” became Money Buddy
  • “COO” became Build Buddy
  • “CMO” became Customer Buddy

Suddenly, everything felt more welcoming.

From Secondary School to Primary School

The FAUNDA journey didn’t stop there.

We also spent time with primary school girls from Diamond Primary School, playing FAUNDA in small groups.

And wow. Teamwork happened naturally.

  • One girl read
  • One clicked
  • One explained
  • One asked, “WHY?” (the most important question)

FAUNDA became a shared adventure. Not a solo game.

Big Ideas for What Comes Next

From these visits, even more ideas were born.

Books + Games Together

Just like international books that come with QR codes, FAUNDA can:

  • Offer a free trial of a book
  • Let kids scan and continue playing
  • Turn reading into action

Pilot Schools

We’re now exploring a full pilot with another school.
A place where FAUNDA can live, grow, and be properly tested.

Banners & T-Shirts

Because when kids see something colorful and fun, they run toward it. Not away.

And yes. Better photos too!

One Big Feeling We Took Home

As we left Mugabe Secondary School, we didn’t feel tired.

We felt:

  • Encouraged
  • Energized
  • Responsible

Because now we know this:

FAUNDA is no longer just an idea.
It’s in classrooms.
It’s in kids’ hands.
It’s being shaped by real learners.

Thank You, Mugabe Secondary School!

Thank you for:

  • Welcoming us
  • Playing with us
  • Questioning us
  • Helping FAUNDA grow

This is only the beginning.

Build. Play. Learn.
FAUNDA is on its way. 🌱🎮✨
